Bramble Lodge Foods commenced business in 2014. My name is Bernie Clarke. I retired from banking and have turned my passion for Food and my hobby into my Business.I am now an Artisan Producer of Good Food. I have been making Chutneys, Preserves, Jams and Marmalades all of my life.
I completed ‘The Business of Food’ course in Ballymaloe with Blaithnid Bergin which I found very beneficial. I found the whole experience of Ballymaloe very inspiring.
I completed my Food Hygiene Course and also completed a Leader Course called ‘The Next Move’ on starting a new business.
My cooking skills have developed over the years and are combined with all I learned from my Mother, Mary, and both of my Grandmothers, Margaret and Agnes. They were all terrific at preserving and pickling and jam making, long before it was fashionable. They preserved everything from the harvest and then always had a jar of something nice during the winter.
My Products are available at ‘The Farmers Market’ IT Sligo- Every Saturday morning from 9am until 1pm.
